PEUGEOT has supplied Ecolab, a global provider of water, hygiene and energy technologies and services to the food, energy, healthcare, industrial and hospitality markets with a fleet of new vans and cars to service its expanding business in the UK and Ireland. The new fleet has been funded by LeasePlan UK, which will provide the new PEUGEOT fleet on a four-year contract that includes maintenance and accident management.
The new Ecolab PEUGEOT LCV fleet is made up of Partner and Expert vans. These will be put to work for the company’s Pest and Water Divisions, with some vehicles used at Ecolab’s manufacturing sites. PEUGEOT was successful in securing the new business with Ecolab from a competitor that had supplied the company with LCVs for a number of years.
The vans have all been professionally converted by racking specialist Modul-System Ltd to meet Ecolab’s operational user requirements. Ecolab has chosen the ‘Professional’ specification which includes: air conditioning, rear parking aid, colour touchscreen with integrated navigation, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity and USB socket as standard. The Expert Professional van includes a range of equipment as standard including: air conditioning, rear parking sensors, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, automatic lights and windscreen wipers, DAB radio with 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, Mirror Link, an alarm, USB and audio sockets. The cars being supplied to Ecolab include 3008 SUV and 308 SW models.
“Ecolab needs efficient, fit for purpose vehicles providing optimum whole life cost”, says Gerallt Williams, Ecolab Country Manager for the UK and Ireland and European Safety and Security Manager. “The Partner has proven reliability, competitive fuel efficiency and meets our objectives with regard to sustainability. Furthermore, warranty and goodwill support from Groupe PSA with regard to technical issues is second to none”.
Ecolab operates circa 5,000 vehicles across its European operations with 1,000 vehicles in the UK and Ireland of which over 400 are dedicated LCVs.
We pride ourselves on supplying our customers with the best vehicles that suit their specific business needs,” Commented Mark Lovett, Head of Commercial Vehicles LeasePlan UK. “The commercial vehicle market is growing, and we know how important it is for companies to know they can get vehicles that come equipped with everything they need.”
“We’re working with Ecolab and PEUGEOT to ensure Ecolab’s fleet is operating as efficiently as possible to support its key business objectives now and in the future, especially as we consider the shift to electric vehicles. We hope to achieve this through our expert consultation, alongside maintenance prediction and monitoring, to ensure a more proactive approach is taken to help Ecolab prepare for, and mitigate against, any disruption.”
“Winning the Ecolab fleet business from a major competitor that had kept the business for 10 years is a really important achievement for us”, commented Groupe PSA Fleet Director Martin Gurney, “We know how competitive the PEUGEOT LCV range is where reliability and whole life costs are concerned and it means a great deal when a customer is so enthusiastic about the benefits this will bring them. We are looking forward to working with Ecolab as the company expands its operations in the UK and across Europe.”
