This year BT Fleet Solutions will once again be exhibiting at the CV Show at Birmingham’s NEC.
But on stand 5C90 this year you won’t find one of the 80,000+ vehicles that BT Fleet Solutions manages or replicas of any of the 65 garages it owns. Not even so much as a life-size cut out of one of the business’ 50 mobile technicians. But what you will find is an idea, a concept, a new way of working.
Imagine you are the driver, starting off his day using BT Fleet Solutions’ app to do the pre-use check on your van. Your phone also pings a text reminder that your car is booked in for an MOT later that day.
Whilst doing the checks you notice a defect and log this into the app. On finishing the inspection, a number pops up for you to call to choose a convenient time to fix the wing mirror. The number takes you through to the BT Fleet Solutions call centre, where a call centre agent arranges for a mobile engineer to meet you at your next customer job. You arrive at that job and the mobile engineer meets you there. You finish your job and your wing mirror is fixed.
Imagine one of your drivers has an accident. A car collides into them and takes off front bumper. The driver opens the BT Fleet Solutions accident management app and completes the questions and uploads photo evidence of what has happened.
On receiving incident details from the app, a BT Fleet Solutions call centre agent calls the driver to check their wellbeing and arrange repair using one of the BT Fleet Solutions Xpress pods which can do 40 per cent of repairs same day.
Back at base, the fleet manager sees the information logged into the accident management app. He reviews the accident detail, driver history and the telematics report. He uses the BT Fleet Solutions risk management tool to book the driver in for some training after looking at his driving history.
Any vehicle, anywhere.
A driver uses the BT Fleet Solutions garage finder app to get directions to the BT garage he is booked into. Arriving at the garage there is a rental car waiting that his fleet manager had booked using BT Fleet Solutions’ same day option.
At the end of the day the fleet manager can review all the analytics of his fleet of vehicles, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) reporting and can even start to review his funding strategy, looking at options for alternative fuels and defleeting existing vehicles.
A true End to End service.
BT Fleet Solutions brings together market-leading technology, a nationwide garage network, years of experience as an operator and field solutions from other BT businesses.
One such field solution, BT’s Final Mile, a network of boxes and lockers that helps field engineering teams be more efficient with their drive time and travel distances, will also be on stand 5C90 this year.
These elements work perfectly together, helping fleet managers improve the performance and utilisation of their fleets and their business and can all be explored at the CV Show 2019.
